Rod Kitson has been the artist in residence at Surrey Quays Shopping Centre since 2019. Rod focuses on the act of making art as much as the final outcome, actively involving local people and inspiriting creativity through community workshops and collaborative art exhibitions. In 2020 this culminated in a hugely successful group show that showcased artwork that more than 150 artists had made during lockdown.

The 2021 end of year art show, taking place from Friday 17th December to Thursday 6th January, is no different. It’s an inclusive event that will showcase entries submitted by local artists in Canada Water from all ages and backgrounds, from beginners to professionals – and we were pleased to provide support to cover entry fees for local residents on low incomes. All entries are being exhibited, and it looks set to be a totally unique exhibition! For more information: www.rodkitson.art
