Invitation To View Proposals and Feedback

Plans To Enhance Canada Dock - 31st August to 14th September 2021

We would like to invite you to attend a virtual consultation exhibition on plans to enhance parts of Canada Dock, as part of the Canada Water Development. Your feedback will help to shape the plans for a Reserved Matters Application (RMA) to be submitted to Southwark Council in the autumn.

We know how important the Dock is for people who live and visit the area, in terms of both its historical and ecological significance and as a place to spend time and enjoy the wildlife.
The plans include a range of measures to enhance this through improving the water quality and wildlife habitats, as well as a new, 150m boardwalk running from the northern to the southern edge so people can experience the Dock as closely as possible.

Our vision is to create a place where people can really interact with nature and connect to the area’s rich maritime history – and we’d love to hear your feedback on the proposals and ideas for how we can do this.

The plans for the Dock have been informed by extensive feedback as part of the masterplan consultation, and more recently the project team have met with local stakeholders including schools and people with accessibility requirements to ensure their specific feedback can be taken into consideration by the design team.

The plans are being brought forward by British Land and build on the outline plans included in the Canada Water Masterplan hybrid planning application, which was approved by Southwark Council last year. You can find out more about the planning process by visiting https://www.canadawatermasterplan.com/ongoing-engagement

Find out more and get in touch with the team

Our virtual consultation exhibition includes information on the vision, the designs, and our approach to important aspects such as ecology, heritage and community engagement.  The exhibition also incorporates Frequently Asked Questions and an opportunity to give feedback on the proposals.

The exhibition can be viewed online between 31st August and 14th September by visiting https://cwm.exhibition.app and we would love to hear from a wide range of local residents, businesses and groups.

Although we are unfortunately unable to hold in-person drop-in exhibitions at this time, we remain committed to sharing detailed plans with you and ensuring that the wider project team are available to answer any questions you may have before a planning application is submitted. You can send any comments or questions to the team directly from the exhibition.

If you prefer, you can also request printed copies of the materials, or translations, and speak to a member of the team about the proposals. Please get in touch either by phone on 0800 470 4593 or by email [email protected] to arrange.
