Free youth football and disability sports

Ready for the new sporting season? Award-winning independent sports organisation Ballers Academy has launched free-of-charge football sessions for 12- to 15-year-olds, along with disability multisport sessions. Both sessions are held weekly on the 3G pitch at Peter Hills School (access via the Salter Road entrance, Rotherhithe, SE16 5ED).

Ballers Friday Night Football – free six-a-side football for 12- to 15-year-olds

For children in years 8, 9 and 10 (ages 12 to 15), Ballers Academy is offering free Friday Night Football sessions. Registration time for the six-a-side games is 4.15pm to 4.30pm, with play until 6pm.

The first session was held on Saturday 24th September, with more than 20 young people taking part. There is capacity for up to 60 young players of all skill levels, so why not come down and give it a try?

Online registration is available at tinyurl.com/ballersfnf.

Ballers Youth Pan Disability – free Monday multi-sports for people with disabilities

Ballers Academy is also making sport accessible for all, as it launches a programme of free-of-charge multi-sport sessions for 9- to 15-year-olds with a disability, including (but not limited to) wheelchair users and people with ADHD or autism.

The Academy’s Youth PAN Disability sessions will run weekly during term time, starting, Monday 3rd October, from 4-5pm.

Online registration is available at tinyurl.com/ballersdisabilityyouth. Parents and carers can submit information on their child’s specific needs and the sessions will be tailored to make sure they’re enjoyable for all attending. They will cover a range of sports and skills such as throwing techniques with a variety of balls, and co-operation when playing team games.
