Canada Water Connect celebrate first birthday

Canada Water Connect, the service that connects people to the opportunities being created by the Canada Water development, launched one year ago with an event held at T&T in Surrey Quays Shopping Centre.

Canada Water Connect were set up in 2023 as a joint venture between British Land and local charity ELBA. The four-strong team on the ground comprises: Freddie Broadhurst, Senior Social Impact Manager; Kita van Berman Heerden, Community Manager; Ian Walker, Senior Employment and Skills Manager; and Julie Hutchinson, Strategic Project Lead. The team work hard to help local people find employment and training opportunities through the development, as well as facilitating support for entrepreneurs and businesses to help them grow, and enabling local organisations to access funding for community projects.
