Support for partners to address the rising cost of living

 Supporting Love North Southwark

As we enter a new year with the cost of living crisis takes hold, the good work being carried out by our charity and community partners is more vital than ever.

That’s why we’re taking prompt action to ensure these groups remain adequately funded and to help everyone in Canada Water, Rotherhithe and Surrey Docks continue to thrive in these tough times.

As part of British Land’s £200,000 commitment to a dedicated cost of living fund, we’re providing a £10,000 fund specifically for locally based organisations, food banks and warm hubs in Canada Water, to help them through the coming months. This is in addition to a 10.1% increase in line with inflation to the funding we provide to our partners across the country, and funding for expert coaching and guidance for many partners from the Centre for Charity Effectiveness.

The additional funding will help these groups work to the best of their ability to reach as many people as possible, allowing them to purchase equipment and provide essentials such as clothing and nappies to those in need. Funds have been distributed among some of the organisations we work with to ensure our partners can continue their work and ensure no-one in Canada Water needs to face the cost of living crisis alone.

We’ve been privileged to have built strong partnerships with a number of groups locally over the years, which all bring unique skills and dedicated workers and volunteers to help make the area a great place to live and work for all. These groups have been at the frontline in helping people get through a tough couple of years, and British Land is committed to using its strengths to continue supporting them through the challenges ahead.
