Canada Water cultural centre – share your thoughts with Southwark Council

We are pleased to announce that we have submitted a temporary planning application for a new Canada Water cultural centre.
Previously, the northern end of the Surrey Quays Shopping Centre was occupied by The Range. We now have an opportunity to create a space that will provide a broader range of benefits and useability for everyone.
The centre will be a multi-use community space featuring services such as food and drink, free Wi-Fi, music, arts, and fresh produce from an indoor urban farm, offering a unique farm-to-fork experience. Our plans include a flexible events space for art, music, and exhibitions, accommodating up to 1,000 people, and a food hall with capacity for community gatherings for up to 350 people. Additionally, an external, green-covered terrace space will provide areas for growing plants and community activities.
The centre will host a variety of affordable cultural and educational activities. We will also improve the area around the dock edge on the southern side of Canada Dock and the boardwalk to improve the local environment and increase biodiversity.
